Accounting I

Course Description:
This is an introductory financial accounting course. Financial accounting involves the process leading to the preparation of financial statements. Financial accounting’s main users are lenders, investors, and various governments. Students will be introduced to the basic financial statements, the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) used to prepare the statements, and how the financial statements are used.
Required Materials:
Financial Accounting by Kimmel, Weygandt & Kieso 10th Edition – Textbook with WileyPlus
Homework Assignments: There will be 11 homework assignments: one at the end of each chapter. Each of the homework is equally weighted and needs to be submitted by the deadline. Immediately after the deadline, you will be able to see a detailed solution report for your homework. Late submissions will count as zero for the assignment grade. There are no makeups for homework. You may drop two HW assignments with the lowest grades.
Quizzes: There are 10 quizzes in total. Each quiz will be in multiple-choice format. You will have 30 minutes to complete each quiz. There are no makeups for quizzes. You may drop one quiz with the lowest grade.
Yellowdig assignments: Each module will have one yellowing assignment. You need to contribute to the discussion on any one of the topics assigned for the week.
Grading : Y our grade for the course will be determined as follows:
