Background literature:
· Course material from week 1

· Weinberg and Gould (2019), chapter 7 (pp. 132-143 – intrinsic and extrinsic motivation)
Scenario:
Josh is the coach of an U13 mixed soccer team. After a series of big wins early in the season, the team has recently been promoted to the first division. The new division is definitely more challenging but the team continues to achieve good outcomes, with a few wins and one draw across the last few matches. Josh, however, notices that despite the good outcomes, not everybody on the team seems to be enjoying themselves as much as before. In particular, some of the girls on the team as well as a few boys seem to be frustrated that they aren’t as skilled as some of the others, which occasionally leads to remarks around how they may be ‘weak links’ and – alongside enjoyment – seems to impact their confidence, effort and performance level in practice and competition.

[Describe the anticipated effects of your intervention. What will outcomes look like if your intervention is successful? Make sure to write full sentences and include links to your theoretical framework]
